'Mr. Snailman'

'Mr. Snailman' was another play on words relating to the idea of Mr. Sandman bringing someone a dream. This animation was specifically created to elaborate a dream in fact.

A man continually wakes up during the night to hear strange noises about his bedroom. Repeatedly he brushes any fears away and drifts back to sleep. When his dreams begin to merge with reality, his "closet monster" (in this case played by an enormous snail - modeled after the 'Racing Snail' in the movie 'The Neverending Story') bridges the gap and arrives at his bedside.

Alarmed and disturbed, he grabs the monster and who then takes him into his own dream.
