Portrait (Magazine Clippings on Paper; 18” x 24”)

Obsolete was created based on a large scale sketch of an elderly model in the winter of 2001. The now retired model, Floyd, had many defining and contrasting characteristics, which made him an extraordinary subject to work with. This image is made entirely out of B/W magazine clippings which almost give an animalistic feel to the portrait. This piece was chosen as a premiere piece in the “Floyd Show : In Honor” at Niagra County Community College in 2002.
