‘Fall’ is a buddy piece to another painting of mine ‘Climb’. Like Rene Magritte’s “Leci n’est pas une pipe”, ‘Fall’ experiments with non-figurative organic shape playing with the idea of the real. The painting depicts form trying to climb out of the proverbial soup. ‘Climb’ goes one step further by actually allowing the forms to come off the canvas because of its fresco style sculptural elements.
